Bad Experiences with Gigabyte Motherboards

A long time ago I bought a gigabyte motherboard, this was back in like 2000 If I remember correctly and I had some really bad experiences. Since then I haven't built my own PC, mostly out of convenience.

However for the last couple of months I've been craving a real nice gaming and graphics machine. It seems everywhere I look I see gigabyte products and I keep thinking about my past boards?

I remember:
shotty BIOS
bad power management
multiple drive problems
over all just "cheap" performance

Has much changed?
 
Yes. A lot has changed. The chipsets are different, the power management is different. All the interfaces and technologies are substantially different from 10 years ago. Gigabyte is a recognized quality vendor these days. I am not advertising anything, just saying - there are also other quite good vendors. I have a mainstream Gigabyte motherboard for 4 months now and it's working great. I cant wove for other chipsets than Intel, but I'd say that Gigabyte is something worth its money.
 
Gigabyte have always impressed me in thier mobo's especially, never had a problem :)

I say go for it, its been 10 years from you bad experience
