Belkin Wireles router/modem Problem

Hey,

As above i have a wireless router problem, i'm trying to re configure my router, i reset the router to factury defults by pushing the reset button in for 10+seconds, i've conected the modem router to my laptop via a ethernet cable, on the router it shows the laptop as conected, but then after 20 or so seconds the laptop disconects saying can not obtain a IP adress.

Any help please..
 
Might be a DHCP problem, could be solved by a firmware upgrade. On the other hand, it could be on the laptop end, so try and get a different computer to connect to it.
