Best cooler for socket 939

I'm planning to buy a better cooler for my AMD 64 4000+ only I haven't got any idea on which one I should buy.

I had my little eye on the Zalman CNPS7700-AlCu, but is that the best there is or is there a better one. I don't want to go into liqiud cooling or other hardcore stuff, just a better fan.

Any advice?
 
Thermalright is another good brand to check out. The XP-120 uses a 120mm fan. The XP-90 and XP-90c (the 90c is made out of copper vs the aluminium plain XP-90) use 92mm fans. All three work on S939 CPU's just fine
 
I always liked my Arctic Cooling Silencer 64 Ultra, thing's so darn cheap, like $20 bucks but it's quiet and works like a charm.
 
Most of these coolers are pretty tall, I'll have to check if it fits into my case because on the inside of the side panel there's this extra tube thing that directs air into the case on top of the cpu. I'm such an idiot, I just realized this.........now I'll have to look if i can take it off before I can even consider adding an aftermarktet cooler :(

err.... just a note to anyone planning on getting a new heat sink,

If you processor came PIB (Processor - in a - Box) Then you CANNOT use any other fan than the one that came supplied without invalidating the warenty!!!

Allthough, if it does fail you could just forget to tell them -wink- (just keep the old heatsink!!!)

I have never owned (or wanted to own) a pentium so i dont know if this applies to scumy chips.... beacuse i have never read the 'lenthy legal Cr@p' on them!!!
 
I attached some pictures of what the inside looks like, the airduct can't be taken off without force.

I'm afraid I might break it, not that it's going to make much of a difference without it, that duct directs the air into my cpu cooler. Won't installing a cpu cooler with fan on the side instead of a fan on top make it suck in hot air from inside the case??

In that case I won't be buying the Titan Vanessa L-Type because it's fan located on the side of the device. If it won't make such a big difference I'll be buying that specific cooler.

Any thought on this??

It doesnt really make a ton of diffrence, the air inside the case is still colder than the Heatsink so it still cools it down

BUT

If your planning on doing high workloads with your computer (Encryption, Compression (and the reverse of both), High quality games etc) every little counts so you might want to turn that big fan (@ the bak of your case) around so that is it blowing air INTO your computer (might make the inside of you pc a little dusty tho)
 
I'm still not sure the best ones from the link in zRoCkIsAdDiCtInG's reply will fit into my case, I'm looking for a cooler which is low in height, with good performance, silent and one that doesn't require me to take out my entire mainboard.

Maybe I'll start saving money for a good liquidcooling system.....
 
Anyhow, I got fed up with the noise produced from my computer so I bought the Zalman, it turned out to be the case fan on the back that made the most noise so I still have to replace that for a silent one.

I overclocked my cpu with 10% and now it's running at 2680 Mhz, idle temps are around 45 degrees, is it any good? Can I keep myu cpu running at this speed?

Check my computer info on the left for cpu type.
