Best program for .avi to DVD?

I have looked on google and found a few programs that do what I want them to, but I am just wondering if anyone had any one that they think is the best. I want to be able to convert my .avi files and burn them to a DVD to play in my DVD player. Any recommendations?
 
Id recommend winAVI or dvdSanta. You can get a free trial for both but both need money to be paid for to use their full features.
 
Hmmm, I will probalby try those for now, but does anyone have a freeware/shareware program?
