browsing all my hdd's from college

HI

i want to browse all my hdd partitions on my computer, from college, so i can tranfer files over, how do i do this, i had problems with ftp apps like ceaser ftp, so there out of the question, so how can i do what i am trying to do?

Addis recommened it to me and I was up and running within about 2 minutes. You just create an account set what you can veiw/edit/delete etc. And away you go :)
 
ah, but i am on aol, i cant use ftp stuff, aol blocks it, they denie it too, you have to be using an ftp applications on both computers for it to work :\
 
ok,. dont know if the problem can be solved using this software, but when using this software, i got someone to connect, at the following error messages accourd in the log

Error closing connection: an established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine

Error: socket error while waiting for ready to send indicator. terminationg connection.

connection terminated.



so whats the deal with that?, how do i sort this problem out?

also, the person who tryed connecting got these errors:

the connection time out

you may not have permission to view this folder error
 
ftp, hmm, i am thinking it could be my router, as i used the exact same address as my router has listed on the setup page, the ftp server detected me as connecting as i used ftp://, then nothing loaded, and internet explorer chrashed, and i got the same error messages, and thats whilts using the same computer, so what could be the problem now?
 
Have you considered using SSH to log in to your computer?
You can get a windows SSH client/server with [google]PuTTY SSH[/google]. It works a bit like telnet, except its more secure and much more common.
 
I can't think why it wouldn't work, just make sure that port forwarding is enabled in your router. But apart from that it could just be AOL.
