For BT Broadband you will still need the microfilters, they are what separate the phone signal from the internet signal on your phoneline.
cheers matt i have filters on my phoneline and internet broadband do i still need a modem and router to internet share i dont want to pay bt for an extra internet conection
How many computers are you connecting? You will need a router for this and an Ethernet modem if you havent already got one (a modem/router combination would be better) You could do it using crossover cables and using one computer for the connection then networking the other to it and using the net as long as the first computer is connected, but that can be hassle if you don't want to leave one on all the time. I'd suggest a modem/router combination if you haven't got an ethernet modem, if you have then look for a router from the likes of Netgear, D-Link or Linksys although other members may beg to differ, and probably will because I'm relatively new to networking...
hi matt ok i am connecting two computers one buisiness so i dont want to interfere with the buisiness computer i only have bt broadband not sure what speed so no modem so is it simple to hook up the two comps using a combi cheers
You can get a simple ADSL router to do this job. There's a good Dlink router here at savastore: http://www.savastore.com/productinf...Savastore&product_id=10249715&pid=44&rstrat=0 Then just use this as your modem and using cat5e network cable to connect the computers to the ethernet ports on the router.
