CD drive Drivers

    no programs realize that my cd drive can burn. for the longest time ever sense i had a friend reinstall windows on my computer

    there some old drives from a E-machines i bought like 5 years ago

    so i was just wondering if maybe i needed drivers to make stuff realize it has a writer or maybe there just dead after so long :chk:

    It depends, What OS are you running? Right click on my computer and select Properties, next choose hardware/device manager.. next double click on cd-rom icon, and go to properties,see if it says CD-RW... If it does,then you can burn.. I would suggest a good burning software like Ashampoo burning studio, They do make a FREE version..

    i run windows xp home i dont see CD-RW in the properties but on the front of the actual drive it says RW so ill try updating the drivers from were u told me to go and see what happens

    its an TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H5528 so if the W mean writable =) but ya it doesn't read blank disc in the drive either
