Right i need to compile a program and yet i really need GCC (the GNUś archive of compilers), however.. to compile a program i need GCC (or want it) but i cannot install GCC... because i have to go through a very incredibly detailed config to install, its not a simple install it takes bloody ages, could someone tell me what to do please?

very confused.

Hmm, sounds like you may be making things more complicated than they need to be! All you have to do is use Suse's YAST software management tool, and it'll install GCC automagically. :)
