ECS K7S7AG review

T-break does a review of ECS "Game Union" motherboard based on the SiS746 chipset with an integrated Xabre 200 GPU. I don't think much of SiS, ECS or the Xabre chips, but the benchmarking results are quite surprising.

The K7S7AG is a perfect example of a product that it much better as a whole than the sum of all of its parts. If you're looking for a motherboard for your AMD CPU with onboard graphics AND planning on using onboard graphics, then the K7S7AG is the fastest solution available at this time. Although the nForce2 has better CPU:Memory management, it falls benhind the K7S7AG when it comes to playing games at a decent resolution. Although, ECS could've made this board better by providing more overclocking options and a TV-Out option.

They seem pretty pleased with this board. I really wouldn't suggest it for gaming, but it is a highly integrated board that could save a lot of bucks and compares well to the nForce 2 boards. ECS is known for boards that are easier on the wallet, so the price point could be extremely attractive.
