external hard disk canot conencted

I've hitachi external hard disk connect to window 7 notebook. But there is nothing show under "MyComputer"; then i check on disk management, i found it show there as Not initialized and no drive character. When i try to initialized it, prompt message box say device not ready.

I have many important data inside that hard disk, can anyone help on how can i get those data out? is there any possible way i can create a backup from disk management??

Have you tried using a different USB cable? Same thing happened to me. I tried using a different cable and it worked for me.

Have you tried it in a different computer as well and it is still not working?

yes, i've try on my friend pc also same thing happen.
and also test on difference usb cable... but can't solve the problem.
Any other suggestion? Thanks for help

Can you try changing the drive letter?

there is no drive letter show. On disk management, it only show not initialized, when i click initialized it prompt out device not ready. Any idea how come this happen??
