    Hi

I have just installed windows XP on another partition, the new one is currently just installed, and has nothing on exept what comes with windows xp, i have another xp instalation that i am using untill i get everything on the other instalation working, the thing is, on my 250gb hardrive named SME EX SRV, i have files called, common, will and program files, on my new instalation i click on Program Files and all i get is a blank folder, i click on folder called Will, and i get drive is not accessible, the file may be damage or corrupt, well somthing like that, i click on common, i can access most of the folers in there, exept i click on movies and the same message as what i get when i click on will comes up. I dont have any of these problems on the old windows xp instalation, everything works tottaly fine.

Any ideas what could be wrong with the new windows xp installation?

Right Click the Folder > Properties > Security

Make sure there is your WORKGROUP/USERNAME in the top box, and that it is set to Full Control (Ticked).

There might be a chance that there is also one with random(?) letters and numbers in.. I think this is where the hard disk has been formatted in another PC.
