Final Psu

HI Again,
I have made hopefully my final decision on my new PSU. The
Hiper Type-R 580W Modular Power Supply - Blue (SLI Certified) is my choice. It was in the recommended list on the PSU sticky so. Also Could somebody tell me how there are only 7 connections on the back but the following connections can be made.

Connections:

* 1 x 20/24-pin Mainboard
* 1 x 4-pin P4
* 2 x 6-pin PCI Express
* 4 x SATA
* 8 x 4-pin Molex
* 1 x 4-pin FDD
 
The Hiper Type-R series allow you to take out some of the wires I believe.
If you don't require 8 4-pin Molex connectors, you don't have to have them all in your case.

Have you looked at the Type-M equivalent by Hiper? The PSU shares the same specification as the Type-R, it just doesn't come with all the fancy stuff like removable power connectors and lights.
If you want to save a bit of money check them out.
 
Thanks, I am currrently working on a window for my case (the first one i made cracked) so I want to go with something that looks good. If my budget gets low then I will go with type-M. Thanks for the info about the molex connectors since I probaly won't need all 8 since I have a fan controller and a few 4-3 pin adaptors. I am still gonna keep this forum open for Big-B to respond to but thanks again, I just got a little boost of confidence!
 
hmm, well i'm not sure how peticular you are on power but i don't recommend modular power supplies because at every connection there is more resistance. So there is a lot more than normal resistance for a modular power supply, but i guess its fine if your not doing anything crazy with it

The power cables that you can remove have multiple power connectors on them. If all the modular cables for the PSU are connected, that's how many you'd have. However, if you don't connect all the cables to the PSU, you won't have them all.
The advantage of modular PSU's is the ability to remove excess wiring without modification or tying wire bunches out of the way.
