Finding compatable power supply to replace old one

I have a fried power supply. My friends have plenty of spare ones, but what do I need to look for to make sure its compatable with my motherboard? Should the wattage match my old one or not?

some cases a prepriatory "hp ect" and wont let you change it because the screws all dont line up but look at the wattage and all and see what u can find around here if there a microcenter near you go to it
