Flashing LEDs

Does anyone know how to disable those annoying flashing lights on case fans? Wouldn't be so bad if they were on constantly ... but they flash and distract!! :swt:

 

Which fans do you have?

 

You might be able to cut the wires to the LEDs, but other than that...the only other solution that I can think of would be to just buy different case fans.

 

Or put new LEDs in.

 

Crystal blue Akasa fans with the speed control. I would cut the wire ... only I don't know which one it is!

 

Yeah, that's kinda what I though. Easiest thing is just to replace those case fans.

 

Would covering them with electrical tape be too uncool for words?

 

I look at some specs for that fan that i found. Dont cut any wires form it. The fan uses the same wires for power to the fan not just to the lights. So all the wires you would need even if the lights were not their. What you can do is open up the fan and take out the LEDs inside the fan. That is the only thing that i can think of.
