fx5950 problem

Got a fx5950 to replace my fx5700 ultra (which worked fine but slow)

Running XP pro with 1gig ram, 2,8Gig cpu, audigy 2 sound card, dvd rw, 2, 40Gig hdd's

windows seems fine in 2D, but a soon as I run things like quake 4, or doom 3 or even ceasar 4, it either crashes straight away (pc locks up blank screen ) or lasts for a minute or so

I have changed my PSU from a 400W to a 500W but the same results with either

Change back to the FX5700 ultra all ok again is my FX5950 faulty or am I missing something else ????? HELP !!!!

checked the heat running coool, it dont work long enough in 3D mode to get Hot ! (seconds !)

have u updated your drivers?

if im not mistaken, ive read about graphics card being in-compatible with some mobos. just a thought.

Wats the size of your Cache Memory?
When Crash next time, look into event viewer(RightClick MyComputer > Manage > Event)
Run Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool to check memory errors...
