Hardware compatibility in using mobile phone was a wifi hotspot

    Hello,
    I need to know what the hardware restrictions are to use a mobile phone with wifi as a hotspot device.Is it due to the hardware or the software issues and if at all what can be done to still use it as a hotspot.
