HD Upgrade

megabytes

Geek Trainee
I am thinking of upgrading my HD to a bigger one what i would like to know is,is it possible to transfer everything i have on my currant HD to my new one as the one i'm using at the mo is only 40Gig.:)

Yup...
If u Buy IDE then connect it with IDE cable as a slave drive and transfer everyting..
If you Buy SATA thn connect it with SATA cable and set it on number 2 from BIOS and copy everything u want...

Thanks for the info. But once i've connected to the ide and set it as slave how do i go about transfering things across

the easiest way to transfer the data is by using 3rd party software like this or you could do the data transfer manually, by attaching your new HDD as a slave on the primary IDE channel (your existing HDD as master) boot safe mode & then copy all you can from C: to D:[ot]assuming the new HDD is D:[/ot]
