Hey everyone. My friend wants to get a new computer, but not spend more than about $800 canadian. We need to allow about $200 for shipping bringing the grand total to $1000. I have picked out some parts but dont know if they are any good together. They are not the best parts, but they are reasonably priced.

case: APEX PC-115 Beige Computer Case - Retail at Newegg.com

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz Socket 939 Processor - Retail at Newegg.com

MoBo: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail at Newegg.com

RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail at Newegg.com

HD: Western Digital Caviar SE 250GB 3.5" IDE Ultra ATA100 Hard Drive - Retail at Newegg.com

Power Supply: ENERMAX EG651P-VE FM(24P) 550W Power Supply - Retail at Newegg.com

Video Card: DIAMOND Radeon X600PRO VX600PRO256 Video Card - Retail at Newegg.com

I know the RAM and video card arent very good, but they are realatively inexpensive. What do you think? Will these parts work together?

+ graphics card 100$ + 100$PSU +25$ Case

Its all total of around $700 and you will get the latest technology..

Here's what I came up with off TigerDirect with all prices in CAN. I'm not sure what his needs are, but if this is to be a gaming box, a Radeon X600 won't cut it these days.

Motherboard: Biostar TForce4 AM2 $95.99
CPU: Athlon64 3200+ AM2 $107.99
RAM: OCZ XTC 2x 512MB PC2-5400 $108.99
Video Card: XFX GeForce 7600GT $170.99
Hard Drive: Seagate 160GB SATAII $76.97
Optical Drive: Pioneer 110DBK DVDRW $54.99
Case: CoolerMaster Centurion 5 $63.99
Power Supply: Enermax 535W $114.99

Total: $794.90 (+shipping, any applicable taxes)

I've got an idea. Why dont you just click in your signature and give away a free system to ur friend?? :D

I'm with BB on this one, that'd be a great system, I wouldn't really spend that much on an optical drive myself but you can tweak that to you're likeing.

Those are Canadian prices, although TD's US prices are a little higher than Newegg's.

just one question i believe the mobo and RAM will work together but can someone make sure please? I am refering to the build that Big B posted
