Hey all, my absentism has been due to getting alot of work in my local area and building quite a nice reputation by word of mouth of my IT Consultancy - and mainly the fee that goes with it.

Despite the amount i work, i'm saving the majority of it for important things like getting my own place, but would like my own rig mainly for backing up and storing my photos from my new D70 SLR/programming/web design e.t.c but mainly also to play some games on and use as a media pc.. but nothing too amazing just has to play HL2 / BF2 / Doom3 and thats it really.

Overclockers.co.uk - not the cheapest, but very very reasonable and competitive, and their support is great and ive never had a problem with em.
 
yeah they're a great place i agree about the prices but for a place that offers so many products and great service/support, its worth the little extra.
 
That Antec power supply in the case might not be a good choice if you don't have a native 24-pin power supply. The DFI boards are a little less tolerant of running power supplies under spec, and that's one of the area's people run into trouble. If that power supply does have the 24-pins, it's probably okay, athough DFI is recommending a 480W power supply with about 25A on the 12V rail or through a combination of the 12V rails. The Tagan 480W unit is probably one of the cheapest options in the UK, but other popular power supplies for the DFI boards are the OCZ Powerstream 520 and the Enermax EG-565 series power supply (I think the EG565-AX is specifically for the UK's 240V)
 
I agree with ninja, 512MB or anything won't compair to 1GB. If you can afford it OCz Gold Series PC4000 isn't horribly expensive but I'd stick with the PC3200 as the temps would be way better.
For your graphics card I'd go with a single 6800GT as it's actually a little faster than dual 6600GT's and about the same price. At least it is in the US. Either that or an X800XL which is even faster but somehow cheaper, but no SLI obviously.
 
You can mod the Ultra-D to make it an SLI board, but it will void the warranty (which I'm sure you can figure that out). If you are thinking of doing SLI later on, you might spend a little extra and get the SLI-D or SLI-DR.
