hi poeple. i have windows vista installed on my pc and i was trying to install windows 2000 from file onto a second HDD (my DVD drive is broke, and therefore i cannot boot from the win 2k disk). but when i run setup.exe an error message appears saying that some functions of the setup will be disabled as i cannot install an OS older than the one that is currently installed.

can anyone tell me if there is a way round this, (or am i screwed) ????

    thanks!

Is the second disk a master (if it's IDE)? Is it completely re-formatted and empty? Maybe, only maybe, it's trying to put the OS on C:\, which , of course, is Vista's territory. best is, borrow a cd drive or whatever and try to boot form the CD.
