Laptop Cooler

After much frustration and testing, I have come to the conclusion that the performance of my Vaio PCG-K33 notebook is affected drastically by heat over a span of a few hours of consecutive use.

My first thought for a solution is to put something under it. I already have something -- This Targus Thing. However, both fans don't spin as fast as they should, it makes an extremely loud noise now, etc...

So now, I'm thinking that I need something like that, except new and not from Targus. :P Thus far, I've come up with two, what appear to be, relatively good products:

Would either of these two products be good? Or should I buy something else that would function better? I'm not really wanting to spend more than $40; something with additional USB ports would be nice, but isn't mandatory (functionality comes first); I doubt noise would be an issue -- the laptop fans are highly audible as it is now.

Thanks in advance for any input. :)
