    Hello!
I'm looking to make something that I think would be somewhat fun, in order to do so, I need to take a laptop I have, and extend the monitor wires.

As in, I need the laptop to fit in a backpack, and have the monitor near my face, my question is how quickly would the video quality degrade?

I know I can snip, and add wire to those black/white wires that attatch to the video card, as well as the other large bundle of wires (It would just be very tedious)

I don't think that the video quality will degrade unless you use a s-video cable.

You can always take a standard VGA cable or a DVI-I (if your laptop has a DVI-I output port) cable and connect it to your monitor like you would with any desktop system block.

I'm sorry, but maybe I misunderstood why this is a problem.

I see my meaning was lost. Ok, what I meant was the actual laptop monitor. As in, removing the laptop monitor FROM the laptop, and extending the wires that connected it before, to appx 3-4 feet.
