Loud PC

Hello, I'm not sure if I have put this in the right forum, but I experience very loud noise problems from my PC, I have had them since the first day I've had it. It is a custom built PC sold on eBay, with the specs below, I had to add a graphics card, and change the power supply to accompany it. Even with the old power supply and without the graphics card it was still loud. The last custom built PC I had was loud too.

VIA High Definition Audio " - From Speccy software

I have no idea about how to diagnose the problem, or isolate what is making the sound. Any explained help would be greatly appreciated.

Also the PC seems to have a random stutter problem, when the mouse would seem choppy and the audio would seem distorted, for a split second.

Open the case, start the computer and lesson to see if you can pin point the sound, It can only be coming from a couple different spots, CPU fan / rear fan or power supply fan.. How many fans do you have in your case ? for the stutter problems, check to see if this PC is OVERCLOCKED... If it is back it down a couple of numbers or try default settings..

Hi sorry for the delayed reply. I have reset all of my BIOS settings, the stutter still, occurs. I have confirmed that the noise is coming from the CPU fan, and if I change it to silent mode, it goes worse.
I have ATI catalyst if there are any issues that could be causing the stutter from it.

Sorry, but how should I test these?
Hard Disk - I have done a Windows Check disk before, it lasted the whole day, but no errors seem to be found. Although I vaguely remember Windows finding errors on the Hard Drive.
RAM - I found these http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/memorytest.htm, would any of them be ok?
CPU - No idea what to do here, but found this - http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=205 (Prime 95)

For the hard drive , Run scan disk to check for error, You can also Hard drive re generator, it works well.. As for ram, Test One at a time, to see if the shutter goes away..
As for the CPU, just make sure your CPU is NOT overclocked..

HDD Regenerator showed the hard drive come up clean. I've had one RAM module in at a time, and as far as I could check the CPU was not overclocked, but the stuttering still occurs.
 
Well. if the shutting is still going on, then it looks like it might be your Motherboard.... I am having the same problem with one of my computers, Only it will turn off when ever it wants too.. Also, have you try a different power supply and Video card..???
 
I can see that ur present & past pcs r out of maintenance.U should check ur machine every month.Dust is one of the big enemy of pc. U should clean the dust by opening the parts of pc.U should clean ur ram,fan,dvd rom & hard disk.U should regularly clean ur registry.U can use cleaning software & perfomance optimizing software.I recomend advanced system care.Its really good.Diagnostic software can mark the areas (sectors) of the hard disc that are bad and prevent your disc and operating system to use that parts of disc in future. Hi, yeah I clean my PC regularly. I've already checked and found the CPU making the noise.
As for the stutter : I've used HDD regenerator which found that no errors are on my Hard Drive, I've tested the RAM (by individually having the modules in) and the problem still occurs

Hi, using DPC Latency Checker I have found that my network adapter is causing the stuttering. (disabled it and monitored the latency). How could I fix this? Would I need to buy something?
 
Well if it is your network adapter, I am guessing it is onboard one right ? You will have to buy a PCI network card to test to see if it is indeed your problem..

Looks like I got my hopes up too high, it still stuttered and I think it's gotten worse. I've done a DXdiag, would you want me to upload it?

I don't have another hard drive, so I'll just have to wait it out and see if the business I bought it off can do anything. Hopefully it should be under warranty, but I'm also worried about losing my hard drive if they replace it. Is it possible that the mouse or keyboard could be causing this issue?
 
You can try changing the mouse and keyboard, But I dont think it is coming from there.. You could back up your hard drive to a usb stick or you can clone your hard drive.

I wish I could, but it's a 2TB hard drive, and 1TB is full
