my Samsung SyncMastere 710M Flat Screen Monitor was working perfectly for about a year! Unfortunately, this time it doesn't display anything even the bois. A message saying "Not Optimum Mode Recommended Mode 1024 x 768 60Hz" floats on the screen - nothing else!

I borrowed a monitor from a friend and tried - it worked perfectly. Then I ajusted the screen area resolution and the refresh rate according the recommendation of the first monitor. When I reconnect it there was no change same message and blank screen!

When I tried to change the sreen mode from the outside - using the buttens available on the surface of the monitor, a message saying "Test Good" comes out and nothing after that message.

Anybody can help me, please. I'm getting frastrated!

Try your monitor on your friends PC. If the problem persists then it's definitely the monitor.

Do you have ReForce by any chance? This has been known to automatically set your refresh rate to one higher than your screen might be able to handle if you haven't set the options up in ReForce correctly.
