    Hi,

I am fairly new and in search of some help here on the forums. I have recently bought a computer from a friend (2nd hand). I ran msinfo32.exe in the run box and it shoot out the system information. On there I notice that the manufacture was incorrect and so it the model number. The desktop is a dell and the model is Inspiron 570 MT. I wanted to change it back to these vales but was unable to.

I tried using regedit searching under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\system\BIOS to change data under the name Base Board Manufacturer, system family, system Manufacture and system product name. I've successfully replaced it with the correct manufacture and product name but as I recheck msinfo32.exe it was still unchanged. I tried restarting it hoping that it would refresh the msinfo32.exe but all it did was restoring all the data that I edited.

Is there a way where I can change it back to the correct information?

    Thanks,

    Msinfo30

Did you mean that when you run DxDiag it will display under the System manufacturer: To be filled by O.E.M.?
