I have no idea when this started or what exactly is causing it (though I assume it to be the GFX card) but here is what happens. Whenever I play a game that seems to require some kind of 3D acceleration, it will play for about 10-15 minutes and the whole computer will freeze and stop responding. The only thing that works is holding down the power button to turn the PC off. I've tested this with a variety of games and I can confirm games even as old as Medal of Honor: Allied Assault cause the game to crash, games like Guild Wars and World of Warcraft cause the crash as well. Third part free MMORPGs like Rappelz cause the crash, in fact the only thing that doesn't seem to cause a crash is Doom, Doom 2, Heretic and Hexen. I've recently updated my drivers but the problem still persists, is my GeForce 6600GT damaged? Overheating? In need of replacement? Any help would be much appreciated.
