New Build (Need Advice)

Memory: Corsair XMS3 8 GB (2 x 4GB) 1333 MHz PC3-10666 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Kit CMX8GX3M2A1333C9
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-650TX 650-Watt TX Series 80 Plus Certified Power Supply
Sound Card: Soundwave Pci 7.1
DVD Player: Asus 24x DVD±RW Drive DVD-RAM/±R/±RW 24x 8x 16x (DVD) 48x 32x 48x (CD) Serial ATA Internal OEM DRW-24B1ST (Black)

I made this build hoping to create a decent gaming computer on a budget, I want to know if these parts are compatible with one another, and I also need advice on a case that can hold all of these together. I am open to any advice on switching out parts that may not work or parts that are better than the ones I have listed. Please, recommend a case if you can, thank you.
 
What exactly is your budget? Also do you plan on overclocking at all, and what kind of games will you be playing? SC2, BF3 etc.
What kind of case would you be interested in? Full tower, mid-tower... and you want a subtle or one with lights and window to see your components.

My budget is just slightly less than $800
A case with lights would be more appealing to me, but mid-tower/full tower does not matter to me as long as it is compatible with the parts and can hold them well.

With these parts you should be able to run just about every game on mid-high settings. Plus there is room to upgrade in the future. Now you could decrease the price by only getting 4GB of RAM, but it's really only a $20 savings. You could also decrease the PSU to 550-600W but the 650 I picked out for you is a good deal and XFX is a good company. The reason why the HDD is so expensive is because of the flooding in Tailand. The prices should be back to normal by next year. If you have any questions or concerns let me know, I'll be happy to help.

Can you possibly recommend a good 1TB HDD? A good balance of Quality-Price hopefully.
I was also wondering why you changed the graphics card? And the PSU?
 
Right now it would make sense to purchase a 1TB drive because of how expensive they are. I said in my previous post HDD prices have soared because of the flooding in Tailand, I would hold off until they go back down with should be by the end of this year early next year. I will however highly recommend this HDD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152185 I have two of them in my rig. The reason why I went with the 6870 is for the price. I normally would say go for the GTX 560 ti, but due to your budget constraint I suggested the 6870. Like I said though if you do come up with the extra money I would go with the 560 ti, I have 2 GTX 560 ti sli in my rig. I changed the power supply because one it is cheaper than the Corsair, and it is more energy efficient. Plus XFX is a very good brand they have excellent products. The first computer I built 3 years ago has a 550w XFX and is still running great.

Alright, thanks for the clarification and all the help. I should have enough money to build my computer my December, just in time for a Christmas Break gaming session :D
 
The 560 ti is the one of the lower of the higher end Nvidia GPU's. By it self it can play most games at medium settings, but if you sli 2 of them then they are just about equal to the GTX 580. The 580 being second best in the Nvidia series. As far as price performance, this one is priced extremely well, once you get past the 570 the performance increase isn't really worth the extra $$$. So the 560 ti should get you what you want, though you may want to consider someday getting another one, or maybe a GTX 570.
