New Computer Build need help !

Hi everyone,

this is my first post and i'm buying a new computer. Here is the list but could you guys tell me first if the manufacturers (Samsung, Western Digital etc) that i have in here are actually good makes and secondly will all the components work well together. Last of all will it be able to run CRYSIS ON A REALLY HIGH SETTING :D

It would have been better if you provided the links to each of the components instead of typing the whole detail out.

-I very doubt a 8600GT will be able to handle Crysis on full settings at 1680 x 1050 resolution. I recommend you get an 8800GT that will definitely play Crysis at full provided you can find one in stock.

-You have not mentioned what PSU your planing on getting.

-I also suggest you don't get that 22"Samsung screen get the 20" thats much better Samsung SM-206BW 20"

-I also think you should get a P35 chipset mobo instead of 680i i recomend these mobos Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R | Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4

-Western Digital, Samsung are really good makes.

-regarding the cpu i recommend you get the Q6600 instead.

-try and get 4GB of memory (you need that much to play Crysis very well on Vista).

-do you seriously need 1TB of hard disk space???????

-also why not get Vista OEM version instead of retail save you some money.

That doesn't make any difference, and if we wants a terabyte HDD, then i say get one, i would if i really needed it. I just don't have that many movies on my HDD, but i know many people who have the equivalent of a terabyte on their machines. However a nice RAID setup wouldn't be a bad idea. Also, if you really want to keep your machine relevant for a decent amount of time, i would look at an SLI/Crossfire setup, and the 8800 GTX's, or the (G92) GTS's. There is also the alternative of that, which is ATI's HD 2900 1gb versions actually outperformed the 8800 GTX's. That said, i would really steer away from any modular power supplies, electrical resistance is bad. I would look into PC power and cooling, they make really great units. OK, lastly, LG pretty much has the desktop LCD market cornered rate now, they make really great displays.

why the quad?

If your runing alot of software/video editing then i'd recommend the quad. But for a balls out gaming rig id recommend a high end dual core e.g E6750/E6850.

Where are you looking, to get one for that much? My E6750 2.66ghz cost me £118. Try 'Aria PC', Microdirect, or Scan

Another issue with that video card is that you got the DDR2 version which is pretty much a paper weight. If you ABSOLUTELY INSIST on getting a 8600GT make sure you order a DDR3 version. It's like night and day difference.
