I just bought a new Hitachi 1TB hard drive (model no. HUA721010KLA330) for my Dell Optiplex 320 tower computer (motherboard model no. CN-0CU395-70821-76L-D1T2). I hook it up and look in the bios and it is never detected. I have all of the SATA ports on and I know that the connections are secured correctly. I can also hear the drive start up. I have an older drive that works fine in my computer. Please help me out here! Thank you in advance!

Pull the Bios battery out for 10 minutes, then replace it.. Then see if your new drive is detected ..

Okay will pulling the battery have any other (bad) effects? That sounds like it would remove the bios. Should that be the only batter on the board?
