New TV and Home entertainment system

Guys I have no idea what tv to buy. My budget is about $2000-3000, I'm looking for the biggest full-hd tv possible, a good speaker setup (I might buy them all separately), and a blue-ray player (either a PS3, a htpc which I'll build, or just a standard blue-ray player)

Suggestions would be great.

Yeah I am tech-savy so I know what I'm talking about, I just have no idea where to start as there are so many different TV's.

I've not had a look at LCD's for a while, so can't advice you on that. I'd recommend getting a PS3 though, its the perfect blu-ray play, plus it also plays games :)

If I where to recommend a brand, Sony, Philips (got high marks for their ambient light TV's) and Toshiba.
