Hey guys just got this, but im wondering why when i make a document on this, i cant open it with earlier versions of office? can someone explain this to me?
Yup...thats the problem you cant open file on the previous version of office if you have created in a new one. Thats like one more bad MS trick to force its products.
Well i just heard there is a way just gona check to see if it works but apparely you go to save as and save it under the format of the older versions of office gona check it out and report back
Well it is true that is the solution you go to save as and save it as a 97-2003 save file to be compatible with the other versions of office
well speaking generally, you are best saving a file in the format of the lowest version of office that will be opening the file[ot]i don't know about 97 - 2003, cos i've not used Win for about a year[/ot]
Someone i know had Office 2007, they did some work at home, and in an email i said, DONT FORGET TO SAVE AS, THEN CHANGE THE TYPE OF DOCUMENT TO 97-2003 OR IT WILL NOT WORK ON COLLEGE COMPUTERS!!, so what did she do? save it as 2007 and it did not work on college computers lol
It is a tad annoying that Microsoft changed their file format, however, what do you expect? With every new peice of software there is goign to be some change in the way data is stored etc. My computing teacher does not get the images from powerpoint presentations saved in Office 07 and opened in older versions. Which is a tad odd
why don't you export the presentationt, then anyone would just need PP viewer toview your presentations
[ot]........it dsnt make sense  coz it waz 2006 last yr nd this product "office 97-2003" is in d markt frm such a long time... [/ot]
