hi, i am really not happy with the ati radeon 9600 np at the moment, i want to softmodd it, is it possible to softmod my 9600np into a 9600pro so that i will get smooth playing on gta sa on highest settings. if its possible to volt mod my 9600np, if so could someone talk me through doing it.
To my knowledge overclocking is as much as you can do, sorry. The 9500 to 9700, 9800SE to 9800Pro, and X800Pro to XT are all the softmods I know of for ATI. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
i dont know, but i have seen on forums that people say they can vmodd and soft mod there 9600np into a 9600pro, can someone find somthing out about it because i have seen no more info about it.
but some people claim they have. overclocking it 484/402 just aint enought, i still get crap fps in gta san andreas, ninja, can you play gta sa smooth at all highest settings?
I thought you said you got good fps on very high? If you're planning on upgrading soon just stick it out, by tinkering around with it you could very well destroy the card by accident. Play it safe and you can sell it for $50.
I personally can't really tell the difference between 800x600 and 1240x1024 even. So if I get bad fps with stuff maxed I keep it on high or highest and put it on 800x600, but that's just me. When exactly are you upgrading.
what, my graphics card? hmm, its unfortunatly going ot be a long time, £73 on power supply, then £15 on cooler, so i will have to wait A: untill christmas B: untill my birthday next year c: untill i get a job, D: empty my banki dont think so). so i expect, i will be waiting untill christmas, as when i get a job, i will not be able to afford a graphics card as i need the money for cloths and other stuff, and its a hell of alot of money just to get to college on the bus, so i think i will wait untill christmas, becouse at christmas/january/feb, there is the sales, so graphics cards will come down then too, so i wait untill christmass, but you never know, my luck may change.
hmmm, all i could sell is, a crappy emachines keyboard. 1 cheap 400w psu (came with my ace case) 1 cheap 300w psu (jeantech) 1 cheap 500w psu (jeantech) 1 total crap emachines generic 150w psu 1 ge-force fx 5200 128mb pci/maybe 256mb gf fx oc 5200 battlefield 1942. roller coaster tycoon 1/added atractions expansion pack included in loopy landscaped ex pack. maybe doom 3 ati silencer 2 (ati radeon 9600xt/pro) celeron d 2.8ghz (maybe) unreal tournament (ps2) formual one 2002 (ps2) crazi taxi (ps2) chrash bandicoor the wrath of cortex (ps2) so as you can see, i will not be able to make £200 by selling all that.
Hmmm, maybe 3quid for the keyboard, 50quid for the psu's. 25 for the 128MB 5200 and 30 for the 256Mb version. 10 for BF 1942, another 10 for Roller Coaster Tycoon. 15 for D3, 15 for ATI silencer, 40 for the Celeron, 15 for UT2k4, 10 for Formula 1, 10 for crazi taxi, 10 for crash bandicoot. That works out to over 200 but maybe I'm expecting too much.
£50 for all the psu's hmm i supose it adds up, i am only currently selling one thing on ebay at the moment (500w cheap psu) i am trying to get used to using ebay. i have 12 ps2 games i am going to sell now. oh yes, btw the graphics card also has splinter cell with it, and bf1942 is the version with the 2 expansion packs too, so £20 for bf1942, and £30 for fx5200, thats what i think anyway.
