Hello gurus, I have a PC which was not originaly designed for use with 2 hardrives.
As the result, hard drives are running hot: 47C and 40C.
I was wondering what will be the consequences on a long run if I leave cover off? It will provde better ventilation at least.

I don't think that the gain makes any real difference at all. Air is one of the worst heat conductors ever, so static air, no matter how much of it, won't give you anything. You need some fans to keep the air moving. I would choose to get some case fans and/or a dedicated HDD cooler.

    Something like this:

I've tried an dedicated HDD cooler and there was not so much improvement... Some times removing cover is not a very good ideea because the air cicle is interrupted. Try add an addional case cooler.
