Safe OC temps

hey, im trying to overclock my AMD 64 3000+ and im wondering whats safe tempatures to work at. before OC it rean at 31c idle and im wondering whats safe for temps and what can i do to lower the temp after overclocking. thanks
 
Intel does datasheets for all its processors which include max vaoltage and operating temperatures. Surely AMD do too?

50* heavy load. I'm sure there are datasheets but common sense would probably yield similar results.
 
For an AMD, I would think that over 50 would be on the higher end, but still acceptable. In general, running temps over 50 for any processor will probably generate problems later on down the line.
 
Anything below 60*C at idle or otherwise is fine. However, if you notice your idle temps close to or past 50*C, then you should look at some better cooling.
 
I disagree, you have an AMD 64 3000+ anything approaching 50C is something you should definitely look at. If there is a bad connection between your proc and hsf, you dont want to come home and find your proc has been running at 60 all day. Above 55 over long periods of time will hurt your computer, it wont last long at 65 (which is why i think the auto-off is around there)
