Need to buy a replacement PSU due to the Task International PSU on it's last legs. Anyway, I've found a SeaSonic 200W PSU which seems to fit the bill. SeaSonic are rated as 'high' in this guide, although I know it's probably not the best source of information Thoughts?
Too late, i've bought it second hand for £8 inc P&P I've just read a thread with Matt555 talking up SeaSonic. So if it's crap I'll blame Matt
From all indications, Seasonic is very good, and from what I hear, their S12 series is dead silent. I don't know if this applies to their entire line of PSU's or not. I've heard some unconfirmed rumors that PC Power & Cooling rebadges some Seasonics, but this is just a rumor I ran across. Either way, they're a little pricier than some other brands, but nothing too hard to swallow.
Hey! Don't blame me, I've just heard amazing things about their latest PSU's - I have no idea about their older units...
Ebay. It's an older SeaSonic model, only a 200W. Not sure about the amperages yet. I bought it for a household server which runs a P3 700MHz. No fancy hardware.
Your main concern should be the 5V rail, so as long as that's in the 20A range, it should be more than enough.
Well it arrived the other day and although it looks pretty darn old, the quality is obvious. Got it hooked up and it's working like a charm. Matt's reputation stays intact.
