Selling A Functioning Pc Without A Case: Whole Or Parts?

Hello,

I was building a small custom computer for myself but need to sell it due to upcoming travels. I have not yet bought a case for it. Is it better to sell separate parts or as a whole PC? It is a functioning computer powered by Dell's power adapter. I run it from a cardboard box for now. My concern is that being without a case it will not appeal to many buyers and only to a small group of enthusiasts. However, I need to sell it fast and selling separate parts could be a tedious task.

So there you have it, does is make sense financially to sell functioning collection of parts as a whole PC? I would not want to sell it cheap due to a lack of case. It is a very cool computer with mini-ITX motherboard, 3.20GHz Intel i5 CPU and, rather uniquely, powered by a combination of picoPSU and Dell's slim AC adapter. Makes me wander if a $40 case would not increase the value by another $100 or so.

Motherboard: Asus H81I PLUS
CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz
Memory: 2 x Kingston 4GB DDR3 CL9
SSD Drive: Kingston 120GB
Power: Dell 150W Ultra Slim Power AC Adapter
PSU: 200W mini-ITX power supply DC 16V-24V

Usually those who need mini-itx AND have skills, rather buy separate parts. Then again if you have working computer in case, it will attract those who want small PC but do not have enough knowledge to build it AND are not willing to pauy computer shop fixed fee for building simple computer. Then again those who buy small PC want good looking case.

How about this? You offer to build computer with those parts and buyer chooses case. Then buyer gets working computer in case he/she wants.

Great suggestion. That way, disadvantage of not having a case can be turned into advantage of flexibility. Thanks.
