Share Point 3.0

Hey Everybody first I just wanna say sorry I have not been on in a while. But I do have a problem.

I have just set up a Share Point Server and installed service pack 1 then I could not open Share Point at all so I did the command stsadm -o upgrade - inplace.

So I was able to get back into share point but I can not upgrade it I try to force the upgrade with the command psconfig -cmd upgrade -force but it gets stuck on process 3 of 4.

Then when I run the configuration wizard it gets stuck on process 9 of 10. How can I get passed this. I need to get passed this so I can set up SMTP server for it. I have been dealing with this for a couple of days any insight would help. :confused:

what exactly is it trying to do on those steps?

oh just found this, not sure if it will help though.

was deploying a solution into our production farm and found that after adding my solution and trying to deploy it (from Central Admin), the the timer job just got stuck on 'Deploying...'. I eventually discovered that one of our app servers had a problem with the Timer Service and shut down. I restarted the timer service and the solution finished deploying.
