I don't think it shows any of that users threads, pms, or replies, though I don't know exactly how it works as I've never successfully used it. If you try to pm someone who's ignoring you does it say "sorry, the recipient of this message choose to ignore you and you will be unable to send this message." or something like that, seems a little harsh.
Ignore means that anything the user does (pm, post etc) you will not be able to see! Also the user on the ignore list never knows he/she is on someones list.
