I guess that's because England is just a 'province' in the United Kingdom.

But you say that you're proud to be British and not that you're proud to be English. Therefore you're now using the flag of the entire UK, instead of the St. Georges flag :D

    hehe

Oi its no bloody province! Why do you think that England, Whales, Scootieland all have their own parliaments - ok ours is the one true parliament - basically we just let the others play with monopoly money ^_^

Na they are actual countries in their own right

It'd be kinda like saying NL is a a 'province' of Continental Europe ^_^

[ot]I live in the lowest part of NL (has the shape of a foot, and actually has hills) in the province called Limburg. That's a country, and the other part of NL is just a piece of land between us and the North Sea :D[/ot]

    Whohooo :D

When Britain first, at heaven's command,
Aro-o-o-ose from out the a-a-a-zure main,
Arose, arose, arose from out the a-azure main,
This was the charter, the charter of the land,
And guardian A-a-angels sang this strain:

    Rule Britannia!
    Britannia rule the waves
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.
    Rule Britannia!
    Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

The nations, no-o-o-o-ot so blest as thee,
Must i-i-i-i-in their turn, to ty-y--yrants fall,
Must in, must in, must in their turn, to ty-y-rants fall,
While thou shalt flourish, shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and e-e-e-e-nvy of them all.

    Rule Britannia!
    Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.
    Rule Britannia!
    Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.

United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Great Britain being England, Scotland and Wales.

We used to be Kingdom of England (inc Wales), Kingdom of Ireland and the Kingdom of Scotland. Then the United/Kingdom of Great Britain. Then United/Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Then the Irish wanted independence and split into the Republic and Northern Ireland hence United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

I think we should probably be called the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

We were probably more countries than this because of the empire and also places like the Channel Islands and Isle of Mann etc (which I think are countries of their own)

I could probaly google this but might as well ask a Dutchman! Is Holland a province of Netherlands?

Ive always thought Holland is the part of NL which is below sea level and is not an interchangeable name with Netherlands. Do you guys call it "the Netherlands" or just Netherlands?

One thing I do know... its probably the only place outside GB id move to! Its got an atmosphere you have to look hard to find in the UK. The cities are as friendly and easy going as small villages in the UK.
Me and four friends went to the dam to get wrecked for a week and basically went to every coffeeshop we could find in 12 different towns. Amsterdam was the best for that but Amersfoort was probably my favourite place. We didnt do the corner Eindhoven is in. Maybe next time! 180g of dope later I had a chest infection for 2 months. I couldnt talk without caughing! Planes are full of these nasty bugs!
