SUGGESTIONS: Building/upgrading rig...

Okay experts!!

After much brainstorming and bumping up my budget a little bit to approx. 724 USD = INR 45k, I'm almost close to finalizing this rig. This will be for playing video games...!!

Let me know of any changes to be made -

Exactly opposite. Games are beginning to use more than 4 cores. Intel still have advantage on single thread performance, but unless you overclock, you will lose much of that advantage. Also i5-4440 is overpriced and has no good resale value. i5-4670K is much better choice. Even if not overclockig. And you will overclock after couple of years. Overclocked i5-4670K is useful at least 5 years, non overclocked i5-4430 probably not.

In any case, remember to buy better cooler. Intel stock coolers are useless. Well, if 80 degree temps are OK, then they have some use.

Power consumption is not an issue on modern cases and elecricity bill difference will only make couple of dollars per year.

z87 motherboard because of i5-4670K and future overclocking.

Quite expensive. Radeon 7850 can prpbably be found cheaper.

I'll redo the budget with the z87 mobo and the i5-4670K

For the Radeon 7850, I checked here locally in India, its ranged at the same price to that of R9 270 [non-X]

I'll stick to the S12II 520W though... future OC'ing may need that xtra juice...

Speaking of OC'ing, how about I get an FX-6300 w/ASUS M5A97 R2.0 and then OC it??

BTW, does OC'ing burn-out the component??

Any suggestions on an aftermarket budget CPU cooler??
 
At same price point, R9 270 is OK choice. Sometimes 7850 is thrown out cheaply.

Get Asus M5A97 Evo r2.0 and then overclock, good idea yes. Also FX-8320 is worth consideration. You won't get much better processors to AM3+ socket than FX-8320 or much better than i5-4670K to LGA1150 socket. That's why I recommend overclocking. Processor upgrade is pretty much out of question anyway.

Overclocking may damage components. When keeping sense, it's pretty safe however. I usually overclock my own machines when they have not much value left. And if OC breaks parts, that's not huge loss anyway.

Cooler depends on how much you plan to overclock. Basic cooler is enough if not, if yes, then better is recommended.
 
Actually Mystic, originally I was conjuring up an AMD rig, but got strayed with the Intel i5 stuff etc...

Sapphire R9 270 or R9 270X ?? I've read, the 270x is high on power intake and generates heat ??

Lancool PC-K57 Or PC-K58 Cabinet Or Carbide 300r

Deepcool ICEBLADEPRO CPU Cooler or any other cooler in the same price range you/anyone can suggest??

Cooler Master IC Essential E1Thermal Grease

Let me know... Or should I go back to the earlier i5 build ??
 
I Recommend Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 and Radeon R9 270. New video cards coming next year, no reason to buy old ones. In video cards, more speed always means more heat and power :)

PSU OK. Case is mostly personal preference. That cooler is bit old, Thermalright Macho for example is good one, however it's very tall. Check if case can handle it. You probably won't need thermal paste.

That build has 8 cores and I had 4-core system back in 2008. Now six years later I would prefer at least 6 cores but it's your choice. Neither choice is bad.

As I already said, you lose much of faster single threaded advantage with i5-4440 and very limited overclocking. IMO 4670K is much better and almost only choice at that budget from Intel.

R9 280X is worth consideration altough it's very expensive old tech. New tech comes next year, long time (but worth difference) to wait.
