USB and Sound issues after replacing PSU

Not sure if this goes here or in the PSU forum. If it's the wrong forum, I apologize.

My work PC was dead. Not sure what happened, but after replacing the PSU it worked again.
But I have two weird issues:

1. USB Ports: Plug and play doesn't work. If I connect a USB device in Windows, nothing happens. But if it's plugged before I boot, both the BIOS and Windows recognize it.

2. Internal Sound Card: It's enabled in the BIOS, it's recognized in Device Manager, but there's no sound. I've tried uninstalling and updating the drivers with no luck.

Specs:
OS: Windows 8.1 Core x86
Motherboard: Asus P5KPL-AM SE (latest BIOS)
PSU: Generic 500W (the old one was 450W, and everything worked fine).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
Try removing the Bios battery for 10 minutes, then replace and see if that does Anything .. Next check your bio's for Any changes to the USB..
Now sound, Go to your Motherboards maker website and download the sounds driver from there, First remove the old driver, Then reboot, and install the new driver..

I've removed the battery, to no avail. I've even made a clean Windows install, with all the latest drivers.
It's worth noting that before replacing the power supply, everything worked just fine.
I'm not an inexperienced user, but this issue is beyond my understanding.
 
Try the following to discharge the PC:
1. unplug the power cord
2. pressing the PC power button for over 20 secs
connect the power cord and power on the computer again.

check if there is any damaged capacitor on the mobo.
