Just then, this appeared on my screen: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v217/Nanco/DSCF0006.jpg I've never seen it before. Could anyone help me out here? Btw its on Windows XP. In case its of use, I recently formatted my HDD and reinstalled XP and all the other programs I need and use. I have just uninstalled Cubase SX and backed up some information and burned it to CD. When the disc is ejected and write is complete, I take out the CD and close the drive. The above screen then appears. Could it be something to do with my CD burning software? (I currently use Instant CD+DVD by Pinnacle as it came bundled free with my DVDRW). Bare in mind I've not had this problem before formatting my computer.
This is unfortunately one of those more ambiguous problems that could be caused by one of many subjective variables. However, it seems to be the NT equivilent of the old .VXD error which haunted 95-ME. In other words, it's probably a driver problem. If you have any exotic video capture drivers or software or if your system is using the driver file "IomDisk.sys", it could be the source of the problem. I wish I could be more specific, but it's definately a software problem (not hardware! yay!). Unfortunately, like I said many things can cause it and the circumstances are hazy.
