Where can I download Windows Xp Service pack 1 ???

I need it for a friend who has 56k I've searched f*cking everywhere but cant find it I find this very weird cuze for win 2k u can d/l it and then burn it for later installing

Or am I blind :confused: ?
 
MS hasn't offically released it yet, so that's why you're having a hard time finding things.
 
You can get it at irc.winbeta.org #winbeta & winbeta-ads, however MS is releasing it on the 9th so it's probably better to wait a week and at least get a decent link to it.

Some software is fine to download early, but when it comes to the OS, I want the final release of an update, not something in beta.
 
Actually the version that's leaked now (1106) is final, I'm just guessing that's it's probably easier to wait for MS to put it up for official downlaod and then you can grab it off their pipes rather than trying to leech it off some cable or 56k user :).

I'm downloading it now at 10kb/sec not to bad but I leave my pc running at night anway
 
Does your friend have a beta of WMP 9 or a previous beta of SP1 installed?

If so they'll still get a testing version message in the corner with a build # of 1920, this only occurs if either of the two previously mentioned items were installed otherwise 1106 is fine and just shows as SP 1 in the winver window.
 
nah he hasnt installed any beta's(he doesnt have internet at home)
and sniper it doesnt work I just get the The page cannot be found msg :(
