Which Sata Controller

Which is the sata controller used in the intel 865 GBF mobo ?

I'm trying to install linux on it but, linux won't detect my sata harddisk.It is a maxtor diamondmax 80GB.

Any help is appreciated.

The integrated SATA provided with ICH5 (southbridge). I'd look into getting the absolute newest version of the distro of your choice and see if that helps. Even then, I'm not sure which ones support SATA controllers yet, and Linux support is likely still in the works, but I don't know for sure.
