Will you have your iPods engraved for free?

Apple and some Apple authorized resellers ( used to engrave for free) offer free engraving on the iPods. Many consumers take advantage of this offer and some just simply don't want it for technical reasons.

Does the engraving process itself hurt hard disk in the iPod?
Will you have your iPod engraved for free?
 
I have my iPod engraved, and it looks cool. It's only a problem if you're trying to sell the iPod. No one wants an iPod with someone else's text engraved in it, I guess.
 
I totally agree with that. I guess most people engrave their names and phone number in it. That's one factor to consider too when buying and iPod and having it engraved. Sooner or later, a new model may come out and selling or handing down the iPod could be challenging.
