Hey, i had some awfull distorting problems with my Logitech z5500, so i am using optical now and set it to PLII Music on the z5500's control center, now, whats best for gaming, 6ch direct, or PLII Movie?, and change the mode to game mode on the X-fi?

Also, for movies, should i use the Optical with the X-fi and choose it to decode to an external decoder (Z5500 Control Center) or decode it and then send it to the z5500?

I am really confused as to what i should use for what, Optical for movies & Music, Direct for Games?

That's one you'd have to test for yourself, given how subjective sound is.

i know optical is better quality as its digital, its just, aint games all surround now? and i heard that optical and coax is bad to use with the x-fi if i want true surround sound in games... but i dont know if people are just saying that coz there systems dont have digital or something.
