    i need help

I added a Yamaha DX-XG sound card to my board (i know it's really old) i just tested something

    i reinstalled my OS(WINXP)
(forgot to remove the yamaha sound card)
and after the OS setup, everything was fine except for the sound
i've installed the board drivers and removed the Yamaha sound card by that time and uninstalled all the Yamaha drivers..

but still everytime i install my Sigmatel drivers audio it won't install,
It says that the audio im installing is not for the found Board

but i'm installing the audio drivers from the ACTUAL Intel motherboard disk, and it's the only audio driver in the CD, so I can't be mistaken,
and i've done multiple reformats, using the same drivers.. but now.
i don't know what to do... help pls :(

Oh and BTW onboard audio is "Enabled" in CMOS

Download a program called Everest, Install and run it..now check under PCI devices to see what sound card you really have.... then get back to use..

it shows Sigmatel Audio. and that's what i've been trying to install..
i'm sure i'm using the right drivers because i've already used it before when i'm reformatting, i just don't know why it can't be detected now

If you have the right drivers, then try this...go into devise manager and delete/uninstall all drivers that are marked Sigmatel Audio, Also go into add/remove programs and do the same there.. next reboot pc... and try to install drivers again..
