Hello. I don't know much about hardware so I am asking you for help. I've been using normal Samsung HDD 1TB for last 3 years and now I got new 60GB SSD 2,5". I am trying to connect both to run OS + some main programs from SSD and other storage from old HDD but there are several problems I am having with connecting that. First my motherboard (X58 PRO-E MS-7522) has 6 SATA ports (SATA 1-6) and 1 SATA port (SATA 7) but I only have 2 SATA Cables one on which old HDD was pluged in and another that goes to CD-ROM. I am not using CD-ROM at all so I am asking if would it be OK if I plug SDD to the SATA Cable that is currently running CD-ROM? Do I need to set master/slave to run both discs properly? Are there any other settings required in BIOS like RAID, AHCI, IDE? Sorry for my bad english and thank you for your help in advance.
