Hello everybody, I have the next problem with my display, an Acer al1916W. After about 30 minutes of use the screen gets frozen and slowly turns to black as in the next image http://img219.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=571605555_509be60ec8e9e438127e728c8a3a311f_122_1194lo.jpg (sorry, I can't make to insert the image) If I disconnect the display, wait enough time and connect it again it takes about another half an hour before it's turn to black again. It's for sure a display issue, because I am currently using the same computer with another one with no problems. I was wondering if it may be a matter of the display controller of the lcd. If it's the latter I will just throw away the display, but it it's the former I would maybe try to find some fix. I would be very interested in knowing the opinion of the people in the forum. Thanks!
Based on what I see, I would think it would be a controller malfunction rather than anything else. The screen itself might have other display issues with pixels or colors, but the type of fading seems more like a chip.
Thanks. I'll see if I can find a cheap controller on ebay or something alike before destinating it to the trash.
