What i would do, is tottaly take the computer apart, and sell everything seperatly on ebay, that way you would make a hell of alot more money then you would selling it as a whole ;)

yeah i'd do that, plus you wouldn't get much for maxtor drives on this forum as we dont like them, well some people do but the majority are with western digital or seagate i think

sell the processor on it's own, motherboard on it's own, keyboard/mouse on its own, case on its own (stick some lights in with it),screen on its own, graphics card on it's own, hard drives together, or both seperatly, dvd reader on it's own, dvd burner on it's own, soundcard on it's own, and so on.....

Ebay is your best bet!!!!, put the 2.0ghz processor on a £50 reserve for 3 days and see how it goes, i would actually put the processor on for a £45 buy now.

it isnt going to be worth much together, why are you selling? because you wont get THAT much and you could always keep as a general Linux/Internet Machine...

It's not that bad, $550 AUS$ Bundled together with XP that's not asking too much in my opinion. XP would cost quite a bit on it's own anyway. I take it you you've got money saved up as well as Appletops are a tad pricey. Just out of curiosity what model are you looking at?

g4 laptops are about £800 are they?
DONT sell the computer together, selling it in parts on ebay will make more money than it would be worth all together, hell i just sold a celeron d 2.8ghz for £60 on ebay, i bought it brand new for cheaper than that, and its price brand new is now lower.

With everything, probably $300-400, maybe $450 USD if you're lucky.

My only input is regarding selling on eBay.

If you sell the whole system together it will cost a fortune to ship and no one likes a hefty postage charge.

But, selling bits will minimise postage. Although you are sending more parts, they are all very lite (even the HDD's are not too heavy) and cost very little to ship.

Unless of course you have a local paper which you can advertise for free.
Then someone can come to you to collect. You can then get his money, wack him over the head and presto - money and PC.....
Seriously now. eBay is a good place to get you fingers on the pulse regarding prices.

I had a quick look on eBay UK and could not see a system simillar to yours.
From what I have seen I doubt you can ask for more than £150-£170.
Not sure what that is in Ozy $$$.
